well, i completed my introductory coaching course.. now i have to coach for a total of 35 hours.. after i complete the 35 hours, i can take level one coaching course.. the day after the coaching course, i had to take the referee's course.. i didnt take the written exam though (no time)..
so on sunday night (19th august), my parents invited a few people over to have a steamboat dinner.. it was also to celebrate my aunt's birthday.. we had a whole lot of fun (not to mention a whole lot of soup..XD)
that's my aunt..
so my cousin stayed after that dinner.. he wanted to stay till tuesday evening.. and he brought his Playstation 2 (which is something very rare in my house).. we played all night for both nights..
and on wednesday, the Penang Junior Closed was held at the Penang International Squash Centre (duh).. i took part in the under-17 and under-19 event.. i was seeded 4th in the under-17 event and not-so-high in the under-19 event..
i played against a guy from Butterworth in the u-17 event on the first day and Max Ong in the u-19 event.. i beat the Butterworth guy easily but Max was a tough opponent.. i have failed to beat Max everytime we meet.. i eventually lost to him 5-9, 9-4, 8-10, 8-10... i went down fighting though..
on the second day, i got a bye for the u-19 event but i faced Alamin in the quarter-finals of the u-17 event.. being the 4th seed means i have to win this match... well, i did.. but i struggled badly.. i won the match 3 sets to 2..
soi its fridays night, went to my other aunt's house for my niece's birthday.. she turns 7.. had dinner, talked, joked, watched tv and had cake.. haha..
that's my niece..
so its saturday, match day 3 as they call it in tennis.. my u-19 match was scheduled for 8.30am and guess what? i reached the courts at 8.30am!! no time to stretch!! my opponent was Dennis Boon.. i started the match slow but managed to get a 3-2 win.. later in the morning, i played against Brian Raj in the u-17 semi-finals.. i lost to him in straight sets but i had the pleasure of hitting a handful of cross-court nicks *laughs*..
so we come to the last day of the tournament.. i had another 8.30am match against Fakrul.. this match was for u-19 9th and 10th place.. i won that match easily 3-0.. and later that morning, i faced Dennis Boon again.. the match was intense and full of drama (trust me).. i won the match easily 9-3, 10-8, 9-5 and claimed 3rd place in the u-17 event.. i got a trophy and a red Head shirt for third place..
3rd Place..
i will post a pic of the shirt when i manage to snap a piture of it.. so that's about it for now.. i will try to post more often.. till then.. bye..
Ivan, out!
